Tate Modern Visit
GCSE students of Photography or Art visited the world famous Tate Modern in London
GCSE students of Photography or Art visited the world famous Tate Modern in London. Taking in the sights, sounds and smells of London, we travelled on the Underground and walked beside the Thames. Students were impressed by the huge scale of the gallery; entering the turbine hall and gazing up at the artworks inside.
We went to see an exhibition called Capturing the Moment. This looked at both Photography and Fine Art. The students enjoyed looking at the artworks by famous artists including Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol. We continued our cultural excursion by exploring another gallery where the students continued to enjoy the artworks and ask questions.
It was a long but fulfilling day, which everyone involved enjoyed.
“It was memorable because it was the first art gallery I ever went to.” Kiera (Year 11).
