About us

ISP was originally founded in 1987 by a small group of foster carers in Kent who were working with difficult-to-place young people. They recognised the need for an integrated programme of care and specialist services, including education, for young people.

As part of the wrap-around support package, the first ISP school was opened to provide high-quality education for children and young people with special educational needs. We take a holistic view of each pupil, offering individual care and a complete range of support that’s constantly evolving with pupil’s needs.

Our vision

Our main goal at ISP Schools is to help children to reach their full potential. We support our pupils as individuals so that they can achieve the very best for themselves and their future. The very core of our work with children is driven by six fundamental values.

A unique provision

We are an Independent Specialist Provision, working with children who have primarily social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The children we support have a wide range of needs and so we tailor our services to the individual, providing attachment and trauma-informed care, a safe and nurturing environment and a passionate, collaborative team of teachers, education support staff, therapists and speech and language therapists.
