We worked hard in drama club for the last few terms by rehearsing our scene where sailors had been shipwrecked and washed up on an island. Three other actors played Caliban who lived on the island already. Half the sailors were confused and half the sailors were drunk because they survived by floating on a barrel of alcohol! They decided to get Caliban drunk so they could take over the island.

We all started in freezeframes to show our character’s personality, but when we were performing, we had to remember our lines, know where to stand and most importantly keep our energy high. The wind down by the sea was a lot more than in our rehearsals at school so we had to project our voices to make it powerful.

I was really nervous before we started but as it went on, it felt better and better. By the end I was really confident. It was a great experience and I am looking forward to being in drama club again next year.
