Jan 06 2025In December we took our children to see a Pantomime at the Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne.
For most of our children this was a first for them, there was laughter and fun the whole way though such an amazing show, the seat we had were incredible, there was flying toilet rolls and water pistols. The cast of the show were some of the funniest and held our children’s attention throughout the whole show.
As you can imagine this took some of our children out of their comfort zone completely however the time spent ensuring all children were prepared for the afternoon was time well spent. Children used ear defenders, teddies, fidget toys and much more to support their self regulation in what could have been an overwhelming event.
Our children found the experience one that they have all voiced they would like to repeat.
Some of the comments from children:
‘I was so worried about going but happy that I did, can we go to one in the summer too.’ (Of course more
conversation occurred as to what, when and why pantomimes happen).
‘I enjoyed the ice-cream.’
‘I liked the jokes, they were really fun.’
