As part of building their Media, English and Speaking & Listening skills, Children recently invited Conservative MP, Huw Merriman to one of their Community Meetings, to ask him questions about his role in Government and SEN and Children's mental health funding. Adults were incredibly proud of how welcoming to Huw the children were, the quality of the questions they asked and how maturely they were able to express their thoughts on Children's Mental Health and SEN funding.
In his newsletter to constituents, Huw reported:
“I was delighted to visit the new ISP School in Battle which recently opened on the Glengorse Estate. Set in beautiful grounds, this new school provides specialist education for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. I joined the students for their early morning community meeting and then took part in a Q&A led by two students, Joe and AJ. They had been studying different types of media and journalism and had some great questions for me on current affairs and politics. It was great to meet the students and staff. I look forward to welcoming them to Westminster so they can see my place of work.”'

The school explored remembrance through lessons and an assembly. They discussed who we remember and why, how it is still relevant today.
